(updated December 2013 - Safar 1435)
- To be in the state of Ihraam, with all its restrictions, on the appointed days.
- To slaughter two goats or sheep as penalty by a Qaarin who violates the laws of Ihraam
by shaving or trimming his hair after performing Umrah.
- To read Takbeer-e-Tashreek after each Fardh Salaat from Fajr of the 9th of Zil Hajj
till Asr of the 13th of Zil Hajj inclusive.
- To remain in Arafat on the 9th of Zil Hajj from Zawwaal till the sun sets on this
day.
- To combine the Maghrib and Esha Salaat at Muzdalifah at the time of Esha on the 9th
of Zil Hajj.
- To perform the Wuqoof at Muzdalifah at its appointed time.
- To pelt the biggest Jamaraat only on the 10th of Zil Hajj.
- To observe the order of Ramee, (pelting), Nahr, (Zabah), and Halq/Qasr on the 10th
of Zil Hajj by the Qaarin and the Mutamattee.
- For men, to shave or trim, (Halq/Qasr), at least a quarter of the head after Nahr,
(Zabah), in order to be released from the Ihraam of Hajj.
- To have Halq/Qasr of Hajj within the boundaries of the Haram.
- To have Halq/Qasr of Hajj before sunset of the 12th of Zil Hajj.
- To pelt all the Jamaraat on the 11th and 12th of Zil Hajj, (and the 13th of Zil Hajj
if the need arises).
- To perform Qurbaani by the Mutamattee and Qaarin within the boundaries of the Haram
before sunset of the 12th of Zil Hajj.
- To complete all circuits of Tawaaf-e-Ziyaarat on the same day if the majority of
them were performed on the 10th of Zil Hajj.
- To perform Ramee of all the three Jamaraat on the 13th of Zil Hajj if one stays over
in Mina after Subhe Sadiq of the 13th of Zil Hajj.
- To perform Ramee of all the three Jamaraat if one happens to return to Mina for any
reason on the 13th of Zil Hajj after Subhe Sadiq.
- To perform Ramee of the 13th of Zil Hajj before sunset of the same day.
- To perform Tawaaf-e-Widaa, (=Tawaaf-e-Sadr), for all those who normally reside outside
the Meeqaat, irrespective of the type of Hajj being performed. (This is not applicable
to women who are ceremonially impure and have to leave Makkah due to a valid Shar’ee
reason.)
- For a Mufrid whose Hajj becomes nullified, (i.e. Faa-itul-Hajj), to perform the Qazaa
of Hajj only, and not for the Umrah.
- For a Qaarin whose Hajj has become nullified, (and who has not yet performed an Umrah),
to first perform a Tawaaf and Sa’ee for Umrah, and then to perform another Umrah,
(for the one which was nullified as a result of the Hajj being nullified), and then
to have Halq/Qasr. In this case, only the Qazaa of Hajj will remain.
- To perform Qazaa of Hajj for every Muhsar, (i.e. one whose Hajj was nullified), whether
it is a Fardh, Nafl or Hajj-e-Badl.
- To perform the Fardh acts of Hajj in sequence and at their proper place and time.
Ruling
- If any one of the Waajeeb acts is omitted either intentionally or through forgetfulness,
the Hajj will be deemed to have been performed. However, Jazaa, (penalty), becomes
Waajeeb.
- If any of the Waajeeb acts are overlooked because of a valid Shar’ee reason, then
the Jazaa falls through.
