HAJJ PRACTICALITIES

MAKROOHAAT OF TAWAAF

 

  1. To recite so loudly during any Tawaaf that it disturbs the concentration of others.

 

  1. To chorus, (or sing), in Duaa, made by a Mu’allim, during any Tawaaf.

 

  1. To suppress the call of nature during any Tawaaf.

 

  1. To perform any Tawaaf in a state of hunger or anger.

 

  1. To perform any Tawaaf in garments that are not free from minor or major impurities.

 

  1. To perform Ramal in all seven circuits of any Tawaaf.

 

  1. Without a valid Shar’ee reason, to omit Ramal and/or Idjtibaa in those Tawaafs where it is Waajeeb to do so.

 

  1. To raise the hands in any Tawaaf before reaching diametrically opposite the Hajr-e-Aswad.

 

  1. To place the hands as in prayer, or on the belly, or on the neck, while performing any Tawaaf.

 

  1. To touch or kiss any wall or corner of the Kaabaah, except for the Hajre Aswad and the Rukne Yemeni, during any Tawaaf.

 

  1. During any Tawaaf, to forego the Istilaam of the Hajr-e-Aswad, without a valid Shar’ee reason.

 

  1. To stop in the middle of any Tawaaf for Duaa.

 

  1. To suspend any Tawaaf unnecessarily.

 

  1. To make any Tawaaf during a Khutba.

 

  1. To make any Tawaaf when congregational prayers are being observed.

 

  1. To grasp the cloth covering the Kaabaah during any Tawaaf.

 

  1. To eat, buy or sell during any Tawaaf.

 

  1. To talk in vain during any Tawaaf.

 

  1. To turn the back or chest towards the Kaabaah during any Tawaaf.

 

  1. In any Tawaaf, to recite poetry other than one that has the praises and glory of Allah, the Almighty.

 

  1. To combine two Tawaafs without performing the two Rakaats Waajeebut Tawaaf in between.  (This does not apply if multiple Tawaafs are performed between Asr and Maghrib or between Fajr and sunrise).

 

  1. To begin any Tawaaf at the time of Iqaamat.

 

  1. To raise both the hands to the ears at the time of intention for any Tawaaf without saying the Takbeer.

 

  1. To delay the two Rakaats Waajeebut Tawaaf without a valid Shar’ee reason.

 

  1. To perform the two Rakaats Waajeebut Tawaaf, (or indeed any Salaat), with Idjtibaa.

 

  1. To perform the two Rakaats Waajeebut Tawaaf outside the Haram.

 

  1. To perform Tawaaf-e-Ziyaarat after sunset of the 12th of Zil Hajj.  (This does not apply to women who are ceremonially impure).
