HAJJ PRACTICALITIES

MUSTAHABBAAT OF IHRAAM

 

  1. Before being in the state of Ihraam:

to clip the nails.

to trim the beard and moustache.

to remove all unwanted hair below the navel and underarms.

to take a bath with the intent of putting on Ihraam.

to apply Kohl.

to apply Itr (Attar) - men only.

to have coition with the spouse if there are no religious prohibitions.

 

  1. To wear Ihraam made preferably of white material.

 

  1. For females to wear socks or stockings.

 

  1. To say the intention of Hajj/Umrah loudly. (Women will say it softly).

 

  1. To say the intention of Hajj/Umrah in the sitting position after offering the two Rakaats Sunnatul Ihraam.

 

  1. To wear he Ihraam and pray the two Rakaats Sunnatul Ihraam in a Masjid, if available, at the Meeqaat.

 

  1. To say the Niyyat in the Haram Shareef if one is residing in Makkah before the 8th of Zil Hajj.

 

  1. To recite the Talbiyyah as often as possible.

 

  1. To recite the Talbiyyah immediately after each Fardh Salaat.

 

  1. To enter the Haram boundary barefooted.

 

  1. To enter Makkah in the daytime.

 

  1. To enter Makkah enroute from Jannatul Mualla.

 

  1. To have Ghusl, without using scented soap, on reaching Makkah.

 

  1. To make the Duaa standing on the first sighting of the Kaabaah.
