HAJJ PRACTICALITIES
KILLING OF LICE OR LOCUSTS
webmaster:draradore
copyright February 2006 (Muharram 1427)
(updated December 2013 - Safar 1435)
Note
- If a Muhrim asks another Muhrim to remove lice from the formers body, or asks him
to kill them, or removes it himself and gives to another person to kill, then the
penalties will be as stated in item (a), (b) and (c).
- If the clothes were washed, (or put in the sun), and consequently the lice died,
then there will be no Jazaa if one's intention was of washing or drying the clothes,
and not of killing the lice.
- The above Jinaayaat and Jazaa only applies to the one who is in Ihraam and not merely
being in the Haram.
- If the locust is in the Haram, then it is not permissible to kill it because it is in the Haram. This applies to both the Muhrim and the non-Muhrim.
